One of the most romantic weddings we have ever photographed, Mara and Scott’s wedding was about as intimate as they come. With Mara’s background in the wedding industry, she and Scott decided their wedding should be solely about them. And with a guest-less event, it was just what they pictured.
Our bride arrived at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates and dressed in the Caretaker’s House with make up assistance from Dani Taverna of Duality Artistry. She then met her groom in the Moonlight Garden to catch their “First Glimpse” of one another. “First Glimpses” are a dream for us photographers as it allows us to take the bulk of the photos before the wedding and before the sun goes down. The couple is much more relaxed for these photos and we like to think that you look the most beautiful when you are comfortable.
We finished the portraits just in time for Scott, Mara, and Mara’s son, Dean to watch the sunset on the Caloosahatchee River. The ceremony took place during twilight in the bougainvillea walled Moonlight Garden with strings of light bulbs strung overhead. Steve Farst played acoustic guitar as the bride entered. This intimate ceremony consisted of the bride, her son, the groom, and a friend that officiated their union.
After Mara & Scott were wed, the two of them strolled down the moonlit path along the river to Ford’s Riverside Lawn. There, the newlyweds were greeted by a table set for two overlooking the water. They danced on the lawn, they toasted each other, and they cut a cake made for them by a baker friend before sitting down for their wedding dinner catered by the Sandy Butler.
At the end of the night, Mara said, “This was the most romantic night of my life!”
