In June of 2014, Steve and Tiara found each other on an online dating website and began a conversation that progressed to a meeting. They agreed to go on a date in the Greektown district of Detroit. What began on that day is a life chapter in both their lives. Tiara found Steve waiting on the street for her, she walked up to him, and said “Hi” as a saxophonist played across the street. The street was active and full of life. He looked into her eyes to see a light he had not seen before. She was a beautiful woman. They went to dinner and had good conversation. After dinner, they took a walk along the Detroit River. Not wanting the date to end, Steve asked Tiara if she wanted to play some blackjack in the casino downtown. She agreed and the night was lucky as they both won more than money. The date ended with sweet desert from a pastry shop. Then Steve walked Tiara to her car and they said goodnight. When they got home, Steve texted her “I had fun tonight, you are pretty cool”, to which Tiara replied “you are pretty cool too.” The first date set the stage for a wonderful year. The couple had many adventures and many dinners together. It is said they fell in love across a dinner table, which is exactly what happened. This love was surely meant to be. A year later they were planning their wedding. Two months prior Tiara and Steve had visited the beautiful beaches of Costa Rica. Tiara fell in love with the idea of a beach wedding and Marco Island was the perfect location. Steve agreed that it would be wonderful. The planning was as intense as the time was short. On the afternoon of the wedding, a “first look” was planned in which Steve would get a surprise look at Tiara before the ceremony. With his back turned, she approached him. Tiara saw Steve in a way she had not seen him before. She saw him as her husband. Then she touched his shoulder and he turned saying “I can smell you.” It was the first memory of the moment he had. Her scent reached his nose before his shoulder felt her touch or his eyes gazed on her face. They embraced and the wedding was everything that they had dreamed of.
